Faculty Pop-Up Training Series: More than a Zoom link: Teaching to a Class and a Zoom Room
- Date: February 1, 2024
- Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Where: Zoom
You’re invited to a drop-in training series on the latest resources to enhance your teaching. Whether you’ve taught for decades or started this fall, these sessions will provide valuable insights and hands-on experience that you can integrate into your teaching practice.
This session will showcase several strategies and tools specifically designed to support teaching a mixed mode course. If your course includes students in a classroom and on Zoom, join us to hear how to encourage webcam use, engage students with whiteboards, and more. This session will meet on February 1, 12-1pm and be facilitated by Elizabeth Park.
Additional Sessions:
- Top Hat – Active Learning Using Student Polling. Penn State’s Top Hat software provides instructors with the ability to collect student responses using their personal devices, just like our older “clicker” systems. Join us to set up Top Hat to use with your classes as an audience response and polling system. This session will meet on February 22, 12-1pm and be facilitated by Griff Lewis.
- Moving the Dial on Accessibility – Anthology Ally. The University enabled a Universal Design tool, Anthology Ally, in Canvas in Fall 2023 that supports our mission of creating inclusive learning environments. This session will provide an overview of the tool and discuss strategies to increase the usability of content. This session will meet on March 14, 12-1pm and be facilitated by Jen Wagner.
Any additional questions can be sent to Elizabeth Park (eep5330@psu.edu).
